The notion of distance is widespread and embedded in our modern society. It is a social and physical distance, which alienates the individual on a physical and, consequently, on a social, mental, and spiritual level.
Modern inventions to improve human life certainly work, but at the same time they interfere with millenary ways of living, natural life patterns, biological rhythms, the social life of human beings.
This dance performance does not distance itself from pressing social issues and captures the essence of human existence: closeness. Closeness to the body, to the human being, to the planet we live in.
MN Dance company, founded in 2008 and led by artistic directors Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec Rynia, plays a vital role in the popularisation of dance among all generations. The group performs at many international dance festivals and theatres in Slovenia, Austria, The Netherlands, UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Israel, USA…
The performance Distance is part of the research project Borderless Body conducted by the MN Dance Company for Nova Gorica and Gorizia - European Capital of Culture 2025.
