PERFORMANCE
Nothing Happens is a dance-theatre performance using absurdism, irony, and exaggeration to reflect contemporary contradictions. Through physical theatre, masks, costumes, and AI-generated voiceovers, it explores a world saturated with information, where crises are constantly present yet quickly consumed and forgotten.
With a cartoonish, exaggerated aesthetic, the piece reveals underlying discomfort beneath a surreal, comedic surface. It questions whether we can still engage with reality, or if constant exposure has made us passive observers.
COMPANY AND CHOREOGRAPHERS
Carlos Aller and Cecilia Bartolino bring together two distinct yet complementary artistic paths. Having started out in the breakdance scene in Valladolid and trained at the Tanzfabrik in Berlin, Carlos has developed a practice that spans urban dance styles and contemporary dance. Cecilia, who trained in Italy, at the Iwanson School in Munich and with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, has performed for artists such as Romeo Castellucci, Sasha Waltz and Wang Ramirez. In 2022, they founded La Rinascita, an internationally acclaimed dance-theatre company whose productions blend dance and theatre to explore the dynamics of human relationships through humour, intense physicality and a contemporary perspective.
